One of my favorite things to do in the whole wide world is travel. However, traveling is not always vacation. Yes, you have to travel to go on vacation, otherwise it is staycation, but they are two very different concepts. Whenever I do get to go on a vacation I always try to make sure I am as prepared as I can possibly be, that means thinking of every little thing. This might seem stressful but if you have a check list it can make it a lot easier. I have a few things that I never leave home without and I would recommend you do not either. Everyone’s opinion of what is essential and what is optional is different but there are a few things that you just cannot get by without. So, next time you book a great trip on Hotwire, take a look at this article while you do your packing to make sure that you aren’t missing a thing.
Always Bring Your Sunnies
Sunglasses are an essential part of any vacation, even if you are not at the beach. No matter where you are, you will most likely be spending a little bit of time outdoors, and if there is one thing I require on my vacation, it is comfort. Comfort is such an important aspect of my relaxation level, and I would hate for that to be compromised by a cloudless day with a sunny sky. Choose whatever brand you like best but just make sure that they are UV Ray protected so your do not burn your eyeballs out
A Camera Besides Your Phone
I know what you are thinking here. Why would I want to bring another thing in my suitcase if I already have a camera on my phone? Well, have you ever dropped your phone while taking a photo? I know I sure have. When we are wanting to take a million photos because we are staying somewhere beautiful exotic and unlike home, it is great to have something other than a phone so that you are not worried when you have to pull it in and out of your bag. Even if it is just a disposable camera, that will do the job. This is also a good idea because it will prevent you from spending time on your phone when you take it out and see an alert before taking the photo.
A Notepad and a Pen
I have never left home without a notepad and a pen in my bag. The number of times I have had to use it, and all of the times it has come in so handy are unable to be counted because there are so many. Sometimes I use it to jot down thoughts or make observations I do not want to forget. Other times, it has come in very handy when I am asking for directions or something along those lines and need to write something down. It can be useful to take someone’s phone number down, or even to leave a note for your hosts when you travel.
